Rob is proud to have been awarded an Associateship of the Royal Agricultural Societies (ARAgS) “in recognition of his contribution to the practice and development of agriculture”.  

A report in the Council for Awards of Royal Agricultural Societies Newsletter & Bulletin March 2013 reads  “Mr Robert Rattray (Wales) is a butcher who also runs a commercial & pedigree farm near Aberystwyth.   He stresses selection of quality livestock as the key to overall business success,   He became a Butchery manager of Cash & Carry at only 19, starting his own butchery in 1991 and now employing 10.    He added a meat processing unit at his own farm and sources 60% of his lamb there.   He has won many Gold Awards for his bacon, ham, sausages & lamb.   Rob & his wife promote local foods.   He has judged many classes at RWAS Show & hosts many groups at his farm.    Ex-Wales rugby cap at under 19, keen fisherman, started Farmers’ Discussion group”.
