Brenan is but a stone’s throw from our Butchery unit. We look out at their fields daily, keep an eye on their stock and follow the farming practice there. Alwyn Davies is Rob’s brother-in-law and Brenan is where Sheila grew up. Alwyn has the benefit of a lifetime’s experience in finishing lambs and beef cattle for the deadweight market. He works on a stringent reseeding schedule and his stock is able to convert the nutritious and fertile grass, into top quality sweet and succulent meat efficiently.  He is a familiar face, not only at livestock markets but also judging in the show rings and has judged the Lamb classes at the Welsh Winter Fair more than once, proving his ability to recognise animals of quality. He always has a selection of beef cattle and finished lambs available and ready for the market.

“My nearest neighbour, I only have to look over the hedge to pick out my choice animal from Brenan. Alwyn always has a good selection of beef cattle and finished lambs available and he always lets me have the pick of the bunch” says Rob

Alwyn Davies, brawd-yng-nghyfraith Rob (brawd Sheila) sy’n ffermio yn Brenan erbyn hyn ac mae Alwyn yn arbenigwr ar gynhyrchu gwartheg bîff ac wyn tew ar gyfer y farchnad.  Mae’n gweithio ar gynllun ailhadu caeth a gall ei stoc drosi y glaswellt maethlon a ffrwythlon i gig tyner a melys o’r safon orau yn effeithiol.   Mae Alwyn yn wyneb cyfarwydd yn y marchnadoedd da byw ac hefyd wrth feirniadu mewn sioeau, gan feirniadu dosbarthiadau’r wyn yn y Ffair Aeaf Gymreig yn achlysurol a hyn yn brawf o’i allu i adnabod stoc o’r radd flaenaf,

“Rwyn gallu pipo dros ben clawdd i weld pa stoc sydd ar gael gan Alwyn. Mae bob amser dewis da o wartheg bîff ac wyn tew yno ac mae Alwyn yn gadael i mi eu dethol a chael y dewis ohonynt,” medd Rob.
